SCENT FROM HEAVEN: WOUNDED MYTH
VR installation with Agarwood, soil and printed textile.
2023. CAPA Contemporary Art Center Budapest, Hungary

The multimedia installation consists of two parts: one in our real world and one in the virtual world. In the real world, I intend to create an empty space filled only with the scent of agarwood, objects and soil. When the audience enters the space, they can put on VR goggles to enter the installation. The VR installation takes the form of an absurd garden filled with Aquilaria trees and agarwood that I captured with a 3D scanner. Between the tree bodies, which are covered with holes, scars and wounds, the visitor can explore the garden at will. On the horizontal, a performer who embodies the agarwood as a child of pain dances to the watery sky. A performance, performed by the artist Hiền Hoàng, was hold at the opening of the exhibition.
